البدرُthe full moon أضَاshone وَبِالسّعُودِand with the auspicious stars اتَّصَلاَjoined
البدرُ أضَا وَبِالسّعُودِ اتَّصَلاَ
لَمَّاwhen نَصَلاَemerged
لَمَّا نَصَلاَ
The full moon shone and joined the auspicious stars,
When it emerged.
وَالنُّورand the light كَسَاclothed سَوَافِرَthe unveiled faces of الزَّهْرِthe flowers حُلَىornaments
وَالنُّور كَسَا سَوَافِرَ الزَّهْرِ حُلَى
حَاكَتْresembled حُلَلاَrobes
حَاكَتْ حُلَلاَ
And the light clothed the unveiled faces of the flowers in ornaments
That resembled robes.
وَالنجمand the star سَرَىtraveled by night وللغُروبِand toward setting ارْتَحَلاَdeparted
وَالنجم سَرَى وللغُروبِ ارْتَحَلاَ
حَتَّىuntil انْتَحَلاَgrew thin
حَتَّى انْتَحَلاَ
And the star traveled by night and departed toward its setting,
Until it dwindled.
