Rise, fulfill the promise, my beloved;

for the soul is on the verge of departing.

For the soul is ebbing away.

وَاسْتَخْلِصِ الرُّوحَ يَا مُفَدَّى

وَاسْتَخْلِصِ الرُّوحَ يَا مُفَدَّى

من مَوْتَةِ الصَّدّ بالتلاَقِي

من مَوْتَةِ الصَّدّ بالتلاَقِي

And rescue the soul, O you for whom I would give my life,

And rescue the soul, O you for whom I would give my life,

from death by your turning away—through a meeting.

From the death of rejection through reunion.
