يَا رَبُّ قَدْ سَوَّدْتُ وَجْهَ صَحِيفَتِي

يَا رَبُّ قَدْ سَوَّدْتُ وَجْهَ صَحِيفَتِي

بِجَرَائِرٍ لِي كَسْبُهَا وَلَكَ القَضَا

بِجَرَائِرٍ لِي كَسْبُهَا وَلَكَ القَضَا

O Lord, I have blackened the face of my record

Oh Lord, I have blackened the face of my record

With sins whose commission is mine, while the decree is Yours.

With sins that were my doing, while ordaining was Yours

وَالْقَصْدُ أنْ أنْجُو مِنَ الآتِي كَمَا

وَالْقَصْدُ أنْ أنْجُو مِنَ الآتِي كَمَا

نَجَّيْتَنِي يَا رَبُّ فِيمَا قَدْ مَضَى

نَجَّيْتَنِي يَا رَبُّ فِيمَا قَدْ مَضَى

And my aim is to escape what is to come, just as

And my aim is to escape what is yet to unfold

You saved me, O Lord, in what has passed.

As You saved me, my Lord, from what happened before

فَبِجَاهِ أحْمَدَ لاَ تُخَيِّبْ مَقْصَدِي

فَبِجَاهِ أحْمَدَ لاَ تُخَيِّبْ مَقْصَدِي

وَتَوَلَّنِي بِالْعَفْوِ وَامْنُنْ بِالرِّضَى

وَتَوَلَّنِي بِالْعَفْوِ وَامْنُنْ بِالرِّضَى

So, by Ahmad’s honored standing, do not frustrate my aim,

So for Ahmad's sake, do not foil my intent

And take me into Your care with pardon, and bestow Your favor.

And take me in Your care, forgive and consent
