يَاO خَيْرbest of مَعَدMaʿadd يَاO فَتَىyouth of عَدْنَانِʿAdnān
يَا خَيْر مَعَد يَا فَتَى عَدْنَانِ
آمِنْallay فَرَقِيmy fear
آمِنْ فَرَقِي
O best of Maʿadd, O youth of ʿAdnān,
Allay my fear.
وَامْنُنْand bestow favor فَإلَىfor toward غِنَاكَyour riches مَدَّstretched out الجَانِيthe sinner
وَامْنُنْ فَإلَى غِنَاكَ مَدَّ الجَانِي
أيْدِيhands المَلَقِhumble entreaty
أيْدِي المَلَقِ
And bestow favor, for toward your riches the sinner has stretched out
Hands of humble entreaty.
