عُطَارِدُهَا وَهْو الشِّهَابُ المُنَوَّرُ

I saw the Pleiades in the darkness, approached by

I saw Venus in the darkness, attended

their Mercury, the radiant meteor,

By its suitor the shining meteor.

كَحَسْكَةِ دُرٍّ تَوَّجُوها بِشَمعةٍ

كَحَسْكَةِ دُرٍّ تَوَّجُوها بِشَمعةٍ

ذُبَالَتُهَا الياقوتُ والجسمُ عَنْبَرُ

ذُبَالَتُهَا الياقوتُ والجسمُ عَنْبَرُ

like a candelabrum of pearls they crowned with a candle,

Like a pearl set aglow by a candle—

whose wick is ruby and whose body is ambergris.

Ruby and amber adorned the sphere.
