سَبَّلْتَyou provided as charity مِنْfor أجْلِthe sake of الرَّسُولِthe Messenger وَقَوْلِهِand his saying
سَبَّلْتَ مِنْ أجْلِ الرَّسُولِ وَقَوْلِهِ
مَاءًwater يُرَوِّيquenches the thirst of الصَّادِيَthe thirsty one المَتْبُولاَthe languishing, love-worn one
مَاءً يُرَوِّي الصَّادِيَ المَتْبُولاَ
For the sake of the Messenger and his saying, you freely provided
water that slakes the thirst of the languishing.
وَسَألْتَand you asked رَبَّكَyour Lord فِيfor القَبُولِacceptance فَنِلْتَهُso you obtained it
وَسَألْتَ رَبَّكَ فِي القَبُولِ فَنِلْتَهُ
فَلِذَاكَso for that reason كُنْتَyou were السَّائِلَthe petitioner المَقْبُولاَthe accepted one
فَلِذَاكَ كُنْتَ السَّائِلَ المَقْبُولاَ
And you asked your Lord for acceptance, and obtained it;
thus you were the accepted petitioner.
فَأمَنْso be secure مِنَfrom الْعَطَشِthirst الشَّدِيدِsevere وَلاَand do not تَخَفْfear
فَأمَنْ مِنَ الْعَطَشِ الشَّدِيدِ وَلاَ تَخَفْ
فَقَدِfor indeed اتَّخَذْتَyou have taken مِنَfrom الرَّسُولِthe Messenger سَبِيلاَa path
فَقَدِ اتَّخَذْتَ مِنَ الرَّسُولِ سَبِيلاَ
So rest secure from severe thirst, and do not fear,
for you have taken the Messenger as your path.
