And a king of beauty guarded the roses of his cheeks,

And shielded his lips’ dusky hue from beard or mustache.

With a smiling mouth for secretary and a hair-parting for witness,

A neck for judge and an eye for scribe.

Beauty’s governor, with his cheek he gathered splendor in full,

And guarded his forehead with an eye as overseer and a brow as chamberlain.

And for the steward of his flanks, his breast’s overseer

Now signs beneath a temple-lock serving as accountant.
