وَحَاسِبٍ خَطَّ فِي الْمُحَيَّا

وَحَاسِبٍ خَطَّ فِي الْمُحَيَّا

شَكْلاً سَعيداً قَضَى بِوَصْلِي

شَكْلاً سَعيداً قَضَى بِوَصْلِي

And a diviner traced upon the face

And a face drew a line in the cheek

An auspicious figure that foretold my union,

A happy figure fulfilled my longing

بِحُمْرَةٍ قَارَنَتْ بَيَاضًا

بِحُمْرَةٍ قَارَنَتْ بَيَاضًا

فَبَشَّرَا بِاجْتِمَاع شَمْلِي

فَبَشَّرَا بِاجْتِمَاع شَمْلِي

With redness paired with whiteness;

With a redness matching whiteness

So both brought glad tidings of my reunion.

So they gave good tidings of my union
