أَمَلَلْتَني وَزَعمتَ أن

أَمَلَلْتَني وَزَعمتَ أن

نَك خائفٌ منّي الملالَهْ

نَك خائفٌ منّي الملالَهْ

You wearied me, yet claimed that

You blamed me and claimed that

you feared I would tire of you.

you fear my boredom

وأطعتَ فيَّ وما أطعْ

وأطعتَ فيَّ وما أطعْ

تَ محرِّفاً أبداً مقالَهْ

تَ محرِّفاً أبداً مقالَهْ

And you heeded others about me, though you had not

And you obeyed regarding me but never

ever heeded one who distorted his words.

obeyed one who distorts his saying

وعلمتَ منّي ما علمْ

وعلمتَ منّي ما علمْ

تَ فلِمْ علمتَ على الجهالَهْ

تَ فلِمْ علمتَ على الجهالَهْ

And you knew of me what you

And you knew from me what you knew

knew; why, then, was your knowledge based on ignorance?

so why did you pretend ignorance?

يا مَنْ جفاني في الضّحى

يا مَنْ جفاني في الضّحى

وأَزارني وهْناً خيالَهْ

وأَزارني وهْناً خيالَهْ

O one who shunned me in the morning light

O you who ignored me in the morning

and sent his phantom to visit me late at night.

and visited me with his imagination's weakness

وحُرِمتُ منه صحيحَه

وحُرِمتُ منه صحيحَه

وقبلتُ مضطرّاً مُحالَهْ

وقبلتُ مضطرّاً مُحالَهْ

And I was denied his real presence,

And I was deprived of him while healthy

and, compelled, accepted his unreality.

and accepted, compelled, his impossible thing

هل ضامنٌ منكمْ لنا

ضمن الجميل فما بَدا لَهْ

Is there a guarantor among you for us

Is there anyone among you who guarantees for us

who pledged kindness and did not change his mind?

who guarantees good but it did not appear to him
