A branch whom God, the Ordainer, has decreed

To be beloved of all men's minds.
Of every wise man's mind, as I have trod
وَماand not كانَwas عِنديin my estimation أَنّthat قَلبيmy heart يقودهُhe leads it
وَما كانَ عِندي أَنّ قَلبي يقودهُ
إِلَيهto him ويُدعىand is summoned نحوهtoward him فيجيبُso it answers
إِلَيه ويُدعى نحوه فيجيبُ
And I had not thought that he would lead my heart
I did not think my heart would urge me so
To himself, and that it would be summoned toward him and answer.
