    Do not expose people's faults while they remain concealed,

    for whoever exposes faults risks distress.

    And do not, because of some kindness with which they have lulled you,

    be trusting at heart, heedless of caution.

    For evil comes from those near and those far away,

    and fire comes from striking stone.

    ومَنْ عداه فمثلُ الشّوك والشَّجَرِ

    And one worthy of brotherhood you will not find;

    and anyone other than him is like thorns and trees.

    And everyone you meet and befriend—

    firsthand knowledge of him differs from report.
