my eyelid—and its cloud does not rain upon the place.

and among clouds are piled masses and rainless ones.

his visitors, until his illness became plain,

a drunkard, its hillocks brushing its dust.

youth's exuberance, its passion, and its wildness.

were its singing girls and wine for those lodging there.

As though the gazelles among the women upon its land

were its gazelles for hunters of love's quarry.

what he said, or what his pens inscribed.
