    وَأَنداءٌ حَبائِلُ كُلِّ سَمحِ

    We have a garden beyond my description,

    And gatherings that ensnare every generous soul;

    And clear wine carried round by a gazelle,

    Whose temple-lock is like night above dawn.

    So do not hold back from a life of pleasure,

    Nor, through your temperament, reject the opening of my counsel.

    For blossoms are the bright opening of every revel,

    Just as love verse is the bright opening of every praise poem.
