اليَومُ يَومُ الجامِ وَالرَطلِ

اليَومُ يَومُ الجامِ وَالرَطلِ

يَومٌ مَليحُ الفَرعِ وَالأَصلِ

يَومٌ مَليحُ الفَرعِ وَالأَصلِ

Today is the day of the goblet and the wine measure,

A day lovely in branch and root.

فَاِشرَب عَلىرَونَقِهِ قَهوَةً

فَاِشرَب عَلىرَونَقِهِ قَهوَةً

كَأَنَّها وَعدٌ بِلا مَطلِ

كَأَنَّها وَعدٌ بِلا مَطلِ

So, amid its splendor, drink wine,

As though it were a promise without delay.

فَالأَرضُ تَجلو نِفسَها بِالَّذي

فَالأَرضُ تَجلو نِفسَها بِالَّذي

في جيدِها مِن لُؤلُؤِ الطَلِّ

في جيدِها مِن لُؤلُؤِ الطَلِّ

For the earth makes herself radiant with what

Is upon her neck—pearls of dew.
