قَدalready حَباhas crawled طِفلُthe infant الصَباحِof dawn
بَينَamong دَياتِnursemaids الرِياحِof the winds
The infant dawn has begun to crawl
The child of dawn has scattered
among the nursemaid winds.
Among the gusts of wind his mirth;
فَرِدِso come to drink العَيشَlife المُصَفّىunclouded
فيin حِياضِthe pools الإِصطِباحِof morning wine-drinking
So drink of unclouded life
So drink the wine of life made pure
in the pools of morning wine.
Within the gardens of rebirth.
لاdo not تُعرِlend سَمعَكَyour hearing إِلّاexcept

كُلَّevery عَيّارِrogue المِراحِof merriment
Lend your ear only to
Attend no more to wail and sigh
every rogue of merriment.
Of every troubadour of grief,
وَإِذاand when ماتَdies سُرورٌa joy
فَاِحيِهِthen revive it بِالإِقتِراحِwith a suggestion
And when a joy dies,
And if a joy should fade and die
revive it with a suggestion.
Revive it with imagination’s leaf.
