وَالسُحبُ عَبرى وَالرَوضُ مَسرورُ
The branches are tipsy, and the blossoms drunk.
The twigs are scented and the flowers intoxicated,
And the clouds are tearful, and the garden joyful.
The clouds lament and the meadows are delighted.

مَنثورُهُ في الرِياضِ مَنثورُ
So rise with us; let us take our morning draught amid flowers,
Rise with us to greet a flower
Whose stock blossoms are scattered through the gardens.
Whose petals are scattered in the gardens scattered.
فَاللَيلُfor night قَدalready ضَمَّgathered up مِسكَهُits musk وَمَضىand went away
فَاللَيلُ قَد ضَمَّ مِسكَهُ وَمَضى
وَالغَربُand the west نَدٌّa fragrant incense blend وَالشَرقُand the east كافورُcamphor
وَالغَربُ نَدٌّ وَالشَرقُ كافورُ
For night has already gathered up its musk and gone,
For night has folded its musk and departed,
And the west is fragrant incense, and the east camphor.
And the west is a call and the east is camphor.
