Sol 6.1

  1. قُم يا نَديمي نَصطَبِح قَهوَةً

    أَرَقَّ مِن دَمعَةِ مَهجورِ

    Rise, my drinking companion; let us take a morning draught of wine,

    more delicate than a forsaken lover’s tear.

  2. وَالرَوضُ يَجلو سَوسَنا مونِقاً

    كَأَنَّهُ كاساتُ بِلّورِ

    And the garden displays lovely lilies,

    as though they were goblets of crystal.
