وَياقوتُ مَعادِنُهُ الغُروسُ
Ours is gold whose crucibles are cups,
We have gold, its goblets are bowls,
And ruby whose mines are planted trees,
And its mines are rubies and pearls,
وَمِسكُand musk بَنَفسَجٍviolets وَخَلوقُand perfumed unguent وَردًroses
وَمِسكُ بَنَفسَجٍ وَخَلوقُ وَردً

تَطيبُ لِطيبِ ريحِهِما النُفوسُ
And the musk of violets and the perfume of roses;
The scent of musk, violets, and roses
Souls are gladdened by the sweetness of their fragrance.
Make spirits joyful and bright.
وَغَدرانٌand pools لَناfor us مِنهاfrom them بُدورٌfull moons

وَأَثمارٌ لَنا مِنها شُموسُ
And pools from which we have full moons,
We have many moons and suns,
And fruits from which we have suns.
As gifts in clusters and bunches.

So, with a visit, free the goblets of folk
So break open with luxurious drinks
Whose palms are prisons for their captives.
Goblets for captives of love.
