يا سائِلي عَن أَصلِ ما قَد رَأى

مِن فَضَّةٍ عِندي وَعِقيانِ

مِن فَضَّةٍ عِندي وَعِقيانِ

O you who ask me about the source of what you have seen

O you who ask about the origin of what you see here

Of silver in my possession and pure gold:

Of silver and walking sticks that are mine

لَم يَكُ لي مالٌ وَلَكِنَّني

لَم يَكُ لي مالٌ وَلَكِنَّني

سَأَلتُ مَولايَ فَأَعطاني

سَأَلتُ مَولايَ فَأَعطاني

I had no wealth, but I

I had no money, but I asked my Master

Asked my lord, so he gave it to me.

And He granted me (these gifts benign)
