O you who are now wrapped in beauty's mantle,
Rise, let us drink at dawn—for night's dye has faded—
مَحجوبَةًa veiled one مِنamong بِناتِthe daughters of الكَرمِthe vine إِنif بَرَزَتshe appears
لَمnot تَخشَfear صورَتُهاher beauty مِنfrom ناظِرٍa beholder مَلَلاweariness
a veiled daughter of the vine; if she appears,
her beauty need never fear a beholder's weariness.
فَالأَرضُfor the earth قَدalready سَفَرَتhave unveiled فيهاupon it الرِياضُthe gardens لَناto us
عَنfrom أَوجُهٍfaces لَوif رَآهاhe saw them عاشِقٌa lover لَسَلاhe would forget his beloved
For the gardens on earth have unveiled to us
faces that, if a lover saw them, would make him forget his beloved.
