يا خائِضَ البَحرِ الذي قَد طَمَت

يا خائِضَ البَحرِ الذي قَد طَمَت

مِنَ المَعاصي فيهِ أَمواجُ

مِنَ المَعاصي فيهِ أَمواجُ

O you wading into the sea, where there have surged high

O you who is sailing the sea, which is filled

waves of sin:

With waves of disobedience,

تَزَوَّجِ التَقوى وَدَع كُلَّ مَن

تَزَوَّجِ التَقوى وَدَع كُلَّ مَن

لَهُ مِنَ الآثامِ أَزواجُ

لَهُ مِنَ الآثامِ أَزواجُ

Marry piety, and shun everyone

Marry righteousness, and leave everyone who

who has sins for spouses.

Has pairs of sins.

فَالعَقلُ لا يوجِبُ إِسخاطَ مَن

فَالعَقلُ لا يوجِبُ إِسخاطَ مَن

إِلَيهِ حاجاتِكَ تَحتاجُ

إِلَيهِ حاجاتِكَ تَحتاجُ

For reason does not call for angering the one

For reason does not require angering He

on whom you depend for your needs.

Whom your needs depend on.
