أَياO مَنone who تَردىcloaked himself بِالصِباin youth وَتَسَربَلاand robed himself
فَتاهَthen grew haughty عَلىtoward عُشّاقِهِhis lovers وَتَدَلَّلاand played coy
O one who cloaked and robed himself in youth,
then grew haughty toward his lovers and played coy,
تَعَطَّفshow compassion عَلىon مَنone لَوif رَأَيتَyou saw اِنهِتاكَهُhis disgrace
جَعَلتَyou would make عَلَيهِover him سِترَthe veil of وَصلِكَunion with you مُسبَلاhanging down
have compassion on one—if you saw his disgrace,
you would let the veil of union with you fall over him.
