O friend, do not heed a word

For which Ghiyath parts his lips.

A man of slack wit and feeble powers,

He brings you effeminate meanings from it.

Never, since he came to be, has he clothed his verse-fragments

In anything but filthy, threadbare meanings.

If the ear comes uninvited to his verse,

    It will encounter unlovely furnishings.
