قَنوعي بِدونِ الدونِ لا نَقصُ هِمَّةٍ

قَنوعي بِدونِ الدونِ لا نَقصُ هِمَّةٍ

وَلَكِنَّهُ شَيءٌ أَصونُ بِهِ عِرضي

وَلَكِنَّهُ شَيءٌ أَصونُ بِهِ عِرضي

My contentment with less than the least is no lack of ambition;

I am content without wealth, it is no lack of ambition,

Rather, it is something by which I safeguard my honor.

But it is something by which I preserve my dignity.

إِذا بَلَغَ الأَعداءُ مِنّي مُرادَهُم

إِذا بَلَغَ الأَعداءُ مِنّي مُرادَهُم

صَبَرتُ إِلى أَن يَقضى اللَهُ ما يَقضي

صَبَرتُ إِلى أَن يَقضى اللَهُ ما يَقضي

If my enemies attain their aims against me,

When enemies attain their wants of me,

I endure patiently until God decrees what He decrees.

I am patient until Allah decides what He decides.
