1. نورُ الصَباحِ مُسبَلُ الأَطنابِ

    وَلُجَّةَ الجَوِّ بِلا حَبابِ

    Morning's light has its tent-ropes lowered,

    and the sky's ocean is without foam.

  2. فَاِنعَم بِإِحدى نِعَمِ الأَعتابِ

    صَفراءَ مِثلَ الذَهَبِ المُذابِ

    So delight in one of the thresholds' blessings:

    a yellow wine like molten gold,

  3. أَرَقُّ سِربالاً مِنَ السَرابِ

    تُعرَضُ في مَعارِضِ الأَكوابِ

    with a robe more delicate than a mirage,

    displayed in the showcases of goblets,

  4. في رَوضَةٍ مُعلَمَةِ الأَثوابِ

    كَأَنَّها زِيارَةَ الأَحبابِ

    in a garden clad in patterned robes,

    as though it were a visit to loved ones.

  5. فَقَد بَدا زَبَرجَدُ اللَبلابِ

    مُرَصَّعاً بِلُؤلُؤِ السَحابِ

    For the ivy's chrysolite has appeared,

    studded with the clouds' pearls;

  6. وَاِنتَشَرَ الزَهرُ عَلى الرَوابي

    كَأَنَّهُ الديباجُ وَالعَتّابي

    and blossoms have spread over the hills,

    as though they were brocade and striped ʿAttābī cloth.

  7. فَاِحمِل عَلى هَمِّكَ بِالتَصابي

    مازِلتَ في سابِغَةِ الشَبابِ

    So assail your cares with youthful playfulness,

    while you are still in youth's ample armor.
