أَهلِ النَدى وَالجودِ

Indeed, by the honor of my forefathers,

By my forefathers' honor,

men of bounty and generosity,

The generous and kind,

لَأَرجِعَنَّ بِنَفسي

لَأَرجِعَنَّ بِنَفسي

إِلى طَريقِ الصُدودِ

إِلى طَريقِ الصُدودِ

I shall surely bring myself back

I will return to the path

to the path of aversion,

Of integrity.

لِأَنَّهُ لَم يُقَلِّب

لِأَنَّهُ لَم يُقَلِّب

رِضايَ عَنهُ بِعودِ

رِضايَ عَنهُ بِعودِ

because he has not stirred

For he has not swayed

my goodwill toward him with a stick.

My contentment with him at all.
