وَعاتِقِ صُبحَةٍ جُلِيَت عَلَينا

وَعاتِقِ صُبحَةٍ جُلِيَت عَلَينا

بِتاجٍ مِن عَجائِبِها وَعِقدِ

بِتاجٍ مِن عَجائِبِها وَعِقدِ

And the maiden of morning was unveiled before us,

In the dawn's embrace, wonders were revealed to us

With a crown of her marvels and a necklace:

With a crown of its mysteries and necklace

مَجَرَّةِ جَدوَلٍ وَسَماءِ آسٍ

مَجَرَّةِ جَدوَلٍ وَسَماءِ آسٍ

وَأَنجُمِ نَرجِسٍ وَشُموسِ وَردِ

وَأَنجُمِ نَرجِسٍ وَشُموسِ وَردِ

A stream's Milky Way and a sky of myrtle,

Of a river's starry stream and cloudy sky

And stars of narcissus and suns of roses,

And narcissus stars and rose suns

وَبَرقِ مُدامَةٍ وَغَمامِ كَأسٍ

وَبَرقِ مُدامَةٍ وَغَمامِ كَأسٍ

وَرَعدُ مُثالِثٍ وَضَبابُ نَدِّ

وَرَعدُ مُثالِثٍ وَضَبابُ نَدِّ

And wine's lightning and a cup's cloud,

And flashing lightning and chalice clouds

And the thunder of lute strings and a mist of incense.

And triple thunder and misty dew

مَحاسِنُ رَندَجَت ما صَيغَ مِنها

مَحاسِنُ رَندَجَت ما صَيغَ مِنها

زِيارَةُ مَن أُحِبُّ بِغَيرِ وَعدِ

زِيارَةُ مَن أُحِبُّ بِغَيرِ وَعدِ

Beauties whose fashioned splendor was eclipsed

The beautiful one prepared what was molded

By a visit from the one I love, without prior promise.
