وَمُلهٍ يُعينُ الأَسى

وَمُلهٍ يُعينُ الأَسى

بِنُصرَةِ أَفعالِهِ

بِنُصرَةِ أَفعالِهِ

And an entertainer who aids sorrow

The friend relieves sorrow

with the support of his deeds;

With the aid of his deeds

إِذا ما دَعاهُ الفَتى

إِذا ما دَعاهُ الفَتى

رَأى سوءَ أَعمالِهِ

رَأى سوءَ أَعمالِهِ

whenever the young man calls upon him,

When the young man calls him

he sees how bad his deeds are.

He sees the ill of his acts
