ألزَّايُ أوَّلُهُ يُنبِي بِزَورَتِها

ألزَّايُ أوَّلُهُ يُنبِي بِزَورَتِها

وَالهَاءُ منها هوىً في القَلبِ قَد سَكَنا

وَالهَاءُ منها هوىً في القَلبِ قَد سَكَنا

Zay, its first letter, foretells her visit.

The first letter foretells her beauty

And the ha of her name is love that has settled in the heart.

And the 'h' settles love in my heart

وَالرَّاءُ رَأفتُها بِالمُستَهامِ غَدَت

وَالرَّاءُ رَأفتُها بِالمُستَهامِ غَدَت

مِن بَعدِها ألِفٌ لإلفِها ضَمِنَا

مِن بَعدِها ألِفٌ لإلفِها ضَمِنَا

And the ra has become her compassion for the love-stricken.

The 'r' shows her kindness to the lovelorn

After it, an alif has given assurance to her beloved.

After it, the 'l' joins and protects her loved ones

والهَمزُ أمنٌ مِنَ الهِجرانِ يُنقِذُ مَن

والهَمزُ أمنٌ مِنَ الهِجرانِ يُنقِذُ مَن

أضحى بِحُبِّكِ يَا زهراءُ مُفتَتِنَا

أضحى بِحُبِّكِ يَا زهراءُ مُفتَتِنَا

And the hamza is safety from separation, rescuing whoever

The 'h' promises safety from separation, saving those

Has become enthralled by your love, O Zahra.

Bewitched by love for you, O Radiant One
