عَجِبتُI was amazed مِنat قولِهِمُtheir remark المُشتبِهِambiguous
عَجِبتُ مِن قولِهِمُ المُشتبِهِ
They said, “So-and-so has married,” and indeed
They said so-and-so got married, but
I was amazed at their ambiguous remark.
I'm amazed at their ambiguous words.
فقلتُso I said مَنwho تَرضَىwould be content بِهwith him مِنَamong النِّسَاthe women
فقلتُ مَن تَرضَى بِه مِنَ النِّسَا
وَهوَwhile he أحقُّmore deserving بالتزَوُّجِof marriage بِهto him
وَهوَ أحقُّ بالتزَوُّجِ بِه
So I said, “Who among women would accept him,
I asked, "Who would be satisfied with him
when he is better suited to being taken in marriage himself?”
Among women?" He deserves to wed no one.
