1. يا سَيِّدا في مَغرِبٍ

    وسيِّداً في مشرِقِ

    O master in the West,

    And master in the East,

  2. ومَفرِقَ العَليَاء بل

    تاجاً لِذاكَ المَفرِقِ

    And the crown of glory’s head—nay,

    A diadem for that crown:

  3. ذوو دُيونٍ لم تزَل

    بابَ محلِّى تَطرُقِ

    Creditors have not ceased

    Knocking at the door of my dwelling.
