يا حليفَ النَّدى المُفَدَّى هَنيئاً

يا حليفَ النَّدى المُفَدَّى هَنيئاً

بوِسامٍ أتاكَ يَحمِلُ بُشرَى

بوِسامٍ أتاكَ يَحمِلُ بُشرَى

O cherished ally of generosity, congratulations

on a medal that has come to you bearing glad tidings.

أودعِ الشَّعرَ منكَ أطيَبَ ذِكرٍ

أودعِ الشَّعرَ منكَ أطيَبَ ذِكرٍ

إن تَشَأ تَحيى بَعدَ عُمرِك عُمرا

إن تَشَأ تَحيى بَعدَ عُمرِك عُمرا

Entrust to poetry the sweetest remembrance of yourself,

if you wish to live another lifetime after your own.

لم تَزَل لِلعُداةِ سُمّا زُعافاًً

لم تَزَل لِلعُداةِ سُمّا زُعافاًً

ولإخوانِكُم مَلاذاً وذُخرا

ولإخوانِكُم مَلاذاً وذُخرا

You have always been deadly poison to foes,

and to your brethren a refuge and a treasure.

يا حَليفَ النُّهى هَنيئاً بمَدحٍ

يا حَليفَ النُّهى هَنيئاً بمَدحٍ

به سار الرُّكبانُ بَرّاً وَبَحرا

به سار الرُّكبانُ بَرّاً وَبَحرا

O ally of wisdom, congratulations on praise

with which riders have traveled by land and sea.

أسبَغَ اللهُ أنعُماً ليس تُحصى

أسبَغَ اللهُ أنعُماً ليس تُحصى

عنكَ فاشكُرهُ ولتَزِد له شُكرا

عنكَ فاشكُرهُ ولتَزِد له شُكرا

God has lavished blessings beyond counting

for you; so thank Him, and increase your gratitude to Him.
