بِرَبِّهِto his Lord فيin شُؤونِهhis affairs ذوpossessing اعتصامٍholding fast for protection
إليهtoward Him رافعُraising الطرفِthe gaze البَليلِmoist
He holds fast to his Lord in his affairs,
With his Lord as his support in all his affairs
Lifting his tear-moistened gaze toward Him.
Is he who raises his weary eyes towards Him
لذاكَfor that reason تَراهُyou see him مصحوباًaccompanied بنَصرٍby victory
وتأييدٍand support مِنَfrom المَولَىthe Lord الجَليلِthe majestic
For that reason, you see him attended by victory
Thus you see him accompanied by triumph
And support from the majestic Lord.
And aid from the Most Exalted King

ويَزهيand is made resplendent العِقدُthe necklace بالجِيدِby the neck الجَميلِthe beautiful
My verse struts proudly with your praise,
My poetry wanders in praising you
And the necklace is graced by the lovely neck.
And the string of pearls shines with a beautiful radiance
فإنَّfor indeed شهادةَtestimony المولَىthe master وِسامٌa badge of honor
أصُولُI assail بهاwith it علىagainst أهلِpeople of الفُضولِmeddlesomeness
For the master's testimony is a badge of honor,
For the testimony of the Master is a medal
With which I assail the meddlesome.
With which I take precedence over the pretentious

And is there any great man like al-Tihami?
And who is like the ambitious with a great one
When has daylight ever needed proof?
Whenever the day needs proof

For by praising my verse, you have made me
So you have made me, with the praise of my poetry
Trail my robes' long hems before them.
Bestow upon them the favor of long robes

Especially when your praise gives it splendor
By your praise, in its Madid and Tawil meters,
In its extension and length
