It is the abode of intimate converse in bygone ages.
It is the abode of intimacy though my mornings are desolate,
Whenever the riding camels pass beyond it, may they be hamstrung.
So when the riders pass by it, they hasten their pace.

I yearn for their abode though I am not longing
but the nearness of the dark-eyed gazelle.
Except for being neighbors with the most beautiful gazelle.

and with a visit from the phantom that does not pass.
And with an imaginary visit that did not occur.

They left behind and did not fulfill the debts of their critic
And baseness, worthy of every blame, is a rich man's delaying payment.
While the blame is all for the wealthy lender.
