ما أومض البرق بالجرداء مبتسماً

إلاَّ تكفكف دمع العين وانسجما

The lightning did not flash on the barren land smiling,

Except that the tear of the eye was wiped and harmonized.

ولا تزمجَر رَعدٌ أو همى مطرٌ

إلاَّ وزاد لهيب النار واضطرما

No thunder roars or rain intends,

Except the blaze of fire increases and ignites.

ولا تغنَّت بذات الأيك صادحةٌ

إلاَّ وبدَّل دمع العين منه دما

No bird sang loudly in the bushes,

Except that the tear of the eye was replaced by blood from it.

ولا حدا بنياق الحي حاديها

إلاَّ وأهدى إليَّ الهمَّ والألما

No guide directed the living's determination,

Except that it brought me worries and pains.

كأنَّ ما بيَ من آلام ظَعنِهِمُو

مهاةٌ ابتسمت عن درٍّ ابتسما

It is as if what pains I have from their wounds,

Are joys that smiled from a smiling pearl.

خود محجبةٌ من نور غُرَّتها

شمس بدت بكمال النور مختتما

A sun that appeared with the perfection of light concluding,

Veiled beauty from the light of its cheek.

تشكو روادفُها من قدِّها ميلاً

وقدُّها يشتكي من فَرعها ظلما

Its branches complain of its tallness inclination,

And its tallness complains of its branches' injustice.

غَزَت بقامتها للعاشقين بها

حتى أعارتهُمُو الآلام والسقما

It attacked the lovers with its body,

To the point that it lent them pains and illness.

سَلَّت سيوفاً من الأجفان نَحوهُمُو

وقد أبادتهُمُو تحت الثرى رِمَمَا

It unleashed swords from the eyelids towards them,

And it had destroyed them under the soil as ruins.

وكم لها من قتيل في الهوى دنفٍ

يستعذبنَّ هواها لا يرى ضيما

And how many slain it has in passion being gentle,

They find its love sweet, not seeing any unfairness.

لِلِه غانية هدَّت لواحظُها

قلباً كئيباً ولن ترعى له ذمما

The singer distracted its glances,

A gloomy heart, and it will not mind its blame.

لا غروَ في فعلها بالعهد إن صدقَت

وإن وَفَت فزمانُ الوصل مغتنما

No wonder in its actions with the pact if it was truthful,

And if it fulfilled, then the time of connection is fortunate.

رضيتُ فعلاً لها إذ كان عنصرها

من بيت آل فلاح القادةِ الكُرمَا

I accept what it does, as its substance,

Is from the house of Al Falah the generous leaders.

مختصَّة بِكَمِيٍّ باسلٍ بهجٍ

سلطان غيث الورى مَن قد حوى الشِّيمَا

Specializing in the perfect, courageous, delightful,

Sultan, rain of the land, who contained the most prestigious traits.

شهم يحاول من فوق السِّماك بما

يعلو به وبحبل الله معتصما

Ambitious, trying above the sky with what,

Elevates him and with God's rope protected.

تَسنَّمَ المجد حتى داس هامَتَهُ

فصار منتدباً بالرُّشد ملتزما

He assumed leadership until he trampled its zeal,

Thus becoming committed to righteousness and bound.

فمن فتى لااير لا شك أن له

مناقب المجد مهما أشهرت عَلَما

So whoever is a young man, undoubtedly for him,

Are the virtues of glory no matter how many flags are raised.

هم الأوائل فعَّالون ما حمدوا

من الفعال به إذ راعَوا الذمما

They are the best workers what they praise,

Of the actions with it when they considered the blames.

الراكبو أعوَجِيَّاتٍ وقد عرفوا

يوم التشاجر والهيجاء مُقتَحَما

The riders of camels, and they knew,

The day of altercation and confusion invaded.

لا يأمن الجارُ إلاَّ في جِوارِهِمُو

ويردَعون الذي يستركبُ الجُرُما

The neighbor is not safe except in their neighborhood,

And they deter those who commit crimes.

قد مهَّدوا المُلك حتى ذَلَّ حاسدهُم

وأمَّنوا الجوَّ حتى هان ما عظُما

They paved the kingdom until their envious one weakened,

And secured the atmosphere until what was great diminished.

قد أشرقت بِهِمُو ايام دولتهم

على سرورٍ كذا شملٌ قد التأما

With them, the days of their state shone,

With joy, as such the group had reconciled.

الصادرون من الوفَّاد في سَعَةٍ

والواردون إليهم لا يَرَون ظَما

The issuers among the loyal ones in ease,

And the entrants to them do not see any injustice.

يسقي رياضَهمُو من صوب غاديةٍ

مواطر الغيث تحيي نَبتَ ما عُدِما

Its orchards are watered from the pouring rains,

Reviving the previously diminished growth.

وحال منها ربيع الوقت وابتهجت

من الأهالي به زهر قد انتظما

The season's conditions changed and the people rejoiced at it,

As an organized flower bloom.

أمر الخلافة قد قام الرئيس به

منهم ومجتهد في كل ما عَلِمَا

The matter of succession, the president took charge of it from them,

And diligent in all that he knew.

بورِكتَ من مَلِكٍ حُزتَ الخلافة من

آبائك الصيدِ بل أجدادك العُظما

Blessed is the kingdom you took the succession from,

Your ancestors, the hunters, rather your great ancestors.

إني أتيتُكَ حين الدهر أمرضَني

من فاقةٍ أورَثَت في قلبيَ الغَممَا

I have come to you when life had made me sick,

From poverty that cultivated worries in my heart.

وقد مَدَدتُ أيادي فاقَتي لكُمُ

ومن رأى بحَر جودٍ يترك الدِّيمَا

And I stretched my hands of need for you all,

Who sees an ocean of generosity leaves the little.

ظننت فيك بآمالٍ أسَرُّ بها

ما خاب قاصدكُم ياصفوة الكُرَما

I thought in you hopeful dreams I become secretive with,

No seeker of you is disappointed, O epitome of generosity.

فهاك أبيات نظم منك راجية

حُسن القبول فبحر الجود منك طَما

Good acceptance, for your ocean of generosity is inexhaustible.

A coquettish one wandering in the cold of youth, so if,

غَرَّاء ترفل في بُرد الشباب وإن

بدت فلا عجب أن قُلتُ بدرُ سما

She appears, no wonder I said, a full moon.

It contained some praise of you brief,

لقد حَوَت بعض مدح فيك مختصراً

فإنَّ مدحَكَ لا يُحصَى له رسما

Since praising you cannot be enumerated or systematic.

You always smile above ambitions with what,

لا زِلتَ مبتهجاً فوق المرام بما

تهواه من أملٍ بالله معتصِما

You desire of hopes in God protected.
