Resist desire, for desire is a mount
The passion is rebellious; passion is a ship
that, once gentle and docile, turns unruly.
That after gentleness becomes hard to humble.

If desire brings pleasure today,
If passion brings pleasure today,
then tomorrow from it come weeping and wailing.
Tomorrow it brings crying and wailing.

Between what you praise in it and what

Invites you to blame, there is but little.
