والذيand he who يخطبcourts العُلاthe heights ليسis not يرضىis content
We have not wearied, folding the orbits as we run.
We did not tire circling the orbits running,
And he who courts the heights is not content.
And he who woos the heights is not satisfied.

In our horses' forelocks are a thousand suns.
In the forelocks of our horses a thousand suns
They fill east and west, in length and breadth.
Fill the horizons, length and breadth.
كلماwhenever خالهاimagined them " الدجىthe darkness " لفَّwrapped شيئاًsomething

Whenever "darkness" imagined them, it wrapped something
Whenever the gloom tried to wrap something
Over the bridge of its nose, and groaned and lowered its gaze.
Above its burrows, it bent away and withdrew.

And because this love is a love of Ahmad,
And because the passion was an Ahmadi passion
They ripened against it, across sky and earth.
They ripened against it, heaven and earth.

In the nature of life lies a wondrous secret:
In the nature of life there is a wondrous secret
How does this love beget hatred?
How this passion gives birth to hate.

Our spreading trees have not complained for want of sweet water or shade;
Our orchard did not complain of murkiness and shade
We complain only of the sick among the people.
Rather we complain of diseased people.

O you who come with roses, we bring down
O you who come with roses, we shower
A thousand swords; rosebuds are sharper.
A thousand swords for the rosebuds are more cutting.

The sword rusts from the dew, then perishes;
The sword rusts then perishes
One part of it, inside the scabbard, devours another.
Some of it in scabbards consumes the rest.

Our dawn's rising is song and roses.
Our dawn rose singing and roses
My Lord has promised, and His promise shall be fulfilled.
And my Lord’s promise will be fulfilled.
