لَقَد فازَ موسى بِالخِلافَةِ وَالهُدى

لَقَد فازَ موسى بِالخِلافَةِ وَالهُدى

وَماتَ أَميرُ المُؤمِنينَ مُحَمَّدُ

وَماتَ أَميرُ المُؤمِنينَ مُحَمَّدُ

Musa has indeed won the caliphate and guidance.

Musa has triumphed with the Caliphate and the Guidance,

And Muhammad, Commander of the Faithful, has died.

And the Commander of the Faithful, Muhammad, has died.

فَماتَ الَّذي عَمَّ البَرِيَّةَ فَقدُهُ

فَماتَ الَّذي عَمَّ البَرِيَّةَ فَقدُهُ

وَقامَ الَّذي يَكفيكَ مِن يَتَفَقَّدُ

وَقامَ الَّذي يَكفيكَ مِن يَتَفَقَّدُ

Thus died the one whose loss touched all creation,

Thus died the one whose loss encompassed all creation,

and there arose one who suffices you in place of whoever is missed.

And the one has arisen who suffices you for whomever you seek.
