1. لَكَ السَعد مِن صَدر الصُدور المؤيدِ

    سَعيد المَساعي الداوريِّ الممجدِ

    Good fortune is yours from the favored chief of dignitaries,

    The glorified Dawari, fortunate in his endeavors.

  2. رآك جَديراً بِالمَعالي فَساقَها

    إِلَيكَ عَلى رَغم الحَسود المفنّد

    He saw you worthy of high honors and brought them

    To you, despite the carping envier.

  3. فَشرّفتها بِالفَضل مِنكَ فَأَصبَحَت

    تُباهي بِكَ الأَخدانَ في كُل مقعد

    So you ennobled them with your excellence, and they came

    To boast of you before their peers in every gathering.

  4. وَما مثلها في حلة العلم وَالذَكا

    عروس تحلّت في الزَفاف بعسجد

    And no match for them, robed in learning and wit,

    Is a bride adorned with gold at her wedding.

  5. فَيا واحد الدُنيا وَيا دَوحة الوَفا

    وَيا دُرّة تَزهو بعقد منضّد

    So O unique one of the world, O great tree of loyalty,

    And O pearl resplendent in a well-strung necklace,

  6. وَيا مَن تَعالى في الوَرى بِبَراعة

    وَحَزم وَمَجد شامخ وَمشيد

    And O you who rose above humankind through mastery,

    And resolve, and glory lofty and firmly built,

  7. وَأنسى إياساً وابن هاني وَكُلَّ من

    يَلين لِما يُبديه رَب المهند

    And made men forget Iyas, Ibn Hani, and all who

    Yield to what the master of the Indian blade displays.

  8. وَيا خَير مَن فاق الأَنام بحكمة

    وَصدق وَعرفان وَرأي مسدد

    And O best of those who surpassed humankind in wisdom,

    And truthfulness, knowledge, and well-guided judgment,

  9. وَأَحيا لَنا عَبدَ الحَميد بِنَثره

    وَقَد هذب الإنشا بِأَعذَب مَورد

    And revived Abd al-Hamid for us through his prose,

    Having refined composition at the sweetest wellspring.

  10. تَهنَّأ عَلى طُول الزَمان بِرُتبة

    بِكَ اِرتَفعت لا بالبها وَالزبرجد

    Take joy, throughout all time, in a rank

    Raised high by you, not by splendor and chrysolite.

  11. وَقابل محيّا بكر فكري بفرحة

    فَذَلِكَ يا مَولاي غاية مَقصدي

    And greet with joy the face of my thought's maiden,

    For that, my lord, is my utmost aim.

  12. فَلا زلت تَرقى رُتبة بَعد رُتبة

    وَتَحظى بِإِقبال وَعز وَسؤدد

    So may you ever rise, rank after rank,

    And enjoy good fortune, honor, and eminence.

  13. وَلا زلت مَشكور المَساعي مُوفَّقاً

    إِلى الخَير مَنصوراً عَلى كُل مُعتد

    And may your endeavors always be praised, and may you be guided

    To goodness, victorious over every aggressor,

  14. نَديماً لِهَذا الداوري مقرّباً

    بَعيداً عَن الأَعدا مُبيداً لحُسَّد

    A boon companion to this Dawari, held close,

    Far from enemies, an annihilator of enviers.

  15. وَلا بَرح الإقبال يُبدي مؤرّخاً

    مَواكب عز أَشرَقَت لِمحمد

    And may good fortune ever proclaim this chronogram:

    Processions of glory have shone for Muhammad.
