You have adorned, O Time, the neck of sovereignty with pearls,

In a realm whose radiance puts the moon to shame,

In a realm whose chief is Ismail, who strengthened it

With his sound judgment, which wards off danger.

And when authority passed to him in Rajab,

No trace of oppression remained in the lands.

And Egypt's banners were unfurled in his reign,

After being folded, through all-embracing justice like Umar's.

And when he saw that he needed a supporting arm

To aid him in dispensing justice with resolve and reflection,

He chose this age's Raghib for his wise counsels,

Through which he holds first place among nomads and townsfolk.
