You grew up and became worthy of lofty rank,

And to your intellect, the difficult was easy.

And how could it be otherwise, when you had banished from humankind

Ignorance, with the unsheathed sword of your learning?

And you strengthened learning through diligence,

On its steeds you outstripped old and middle-aged men.

And you established principles for literary composition,

Whose verses came to be recited in Egypt.

And you are worthy of every rank,

For your praiseworthy station is loftier.

So live contentedly in the serenity of a time

Whose brides are unveiled before you in Egypt.

And grow in prestige, veneration, and glory,

Throughout all time, as long as you grow in merit.

And what joy said to me about you was: 'Compose a chronogram:'

'Your rising above the bān tree, O Riyad, is more fitting.'
