بِالنَصر لِلصَدر عيد الفُطر قَد لاحا

بِالنَصر لِلصَدر عيد الفُطر قَد لاحا

وَكَوكَب السَعد أَولى مصر إِصلاحا

وَكَوكَب السَعد أَولى مصر إِصلاحا

With victory for the chief minister, Eid al-Fitr has dawned.

And the star of good fortune has bestowed reform upon Egypt.

فَأَشرَقَت بسَعيد العَصر وَاِبتَسَمَت

فَأَشرَقَت بسَعيد العَصر وَاِبتَسَمَت

ثُغورُها وَاِزدَهَت بِالعز أَفراحا

ثُغورُها وَاِزدَهَت بِالعز أَفراحا

So she shone through Sa‘id of the age, and smiles brightened

Her lips; she exulted in glory and rejoicing.

لازالَ للدين وَالدُنيا بهمته

لازالَ للدين وَالدُنيا بهمته

يُحيي وَيُرشد أَجساماً وَأَرواحا

يُحيي وَيُرشد أَجساماً وَأَرواحا

May he ever, for religion and worldly life, through his resolve,

Revive and guide bodies and souls,

وَيَحفظ الملك بِالجَيش الَّذي ترك ال

وَيَحفظ الملك بِالجَيش الَّذي ترك ال

أَعداء في حومة الميدان أَشباحا

أَعداء في حومة الميدان أَشباحا

And safeguard the realm with the army that left the

Enemies as specters in the thick of the battlefield,

وَيَنشُرُ العَدل في أرجاء مملكة

وَيَنشُرُ العَدل في أرجاء مملكة

نالَت بِدَولته الغَراء إِفلاحا

نالَت بِدَولته الغَراء إِفلاحا

And spread justice throughout the reaches of a kingdom

That attained prosperity through his illustrious rule,

ما جاءَ عيد سَعيد فيهِ مادحه

ما جاءَ عيد سَعيد فيهِ مادحه

أَثنى عَلَيهِ بِمَدح مسكه فاحا

أَثنى عَلَيهِ بِمَدح مسكه فاحا

As long as a joyous feast comes, when his panegyrist

Extols him with praise whose musk wafts forth,

وَما تَرنمت البُشرى مُؤرخةً

وَما تَرنمت البُشرى مُؤرخةً

بِالنَصر لِلصَدر عيد الفُطر قَد لاحا

بِالنَصر لِلصَدر عيد الفُطر قَد لاحا

And as long as glad tidings sing, giving this chronogram:

“With victory for the chief minister, Eid al-Fitr has dawned.”
