When she of dazzling beauty appeared

When the one of radiant beauty appeared

In Egypt, like the radiant, shining full moon,

In Egypt, like the bright, resplendent full moon

وَبِشَمس طَلعتها أَضاء محمدٌ

وَبِشَمس طَلعتها أَضاء محمدٌ

علَمُ الحَقيقة ذُو الفُؤاد العامر

علَمُ الحَقيقة ذُو الفُؤاد العامر

And by the sun of her countenance Muhammad shone,

And with the sun of her rise Muhammad illuminated

The banner of truth, with a flourishing heart,

The banner of truth, one with a heart full of light

كَهف المَعارف وَاللَطائف وَالنَدى

كَهف المَعارف وَاللَطائف وَالنَدى

وَالفَضل وَالمَجد الأَثيل الفاخر

وَالفَضل وَالمَجد الأَثيل الفاخر

A refuge for learning, subtle insights, and generosity,

Cave of knowledge, subtleties, dew,

And virtue and time-honored, splendid glory,

Generosity, glory, ancient and magnificent

رب السِياسة والرِياسة وَالذَكا

رب السِياسة والرِياسة وَالذَكا

وَالحَزم وَالرَأي السَديد الناصر

وَالحَزم وَالرَأي السَديد الناصر

Master of statecraft, leadership, and intelligence,

Lord of politics and leadership and intelligence

And resolve and sound, helpful judgment,

And resolve, and sound opinion, and victory

تلميذ قُطب الوَقت حبر زَمانه

تلميذ قُطب الوَقت حبر زَمانه

السيد البَحر الخضمّ الزاخر

السيد البَحر الخضمّ الزاخر

Disciple of the age's spiritual pole, the scholar of his time,

Pupil of the pole of the time, the eloquent sage of his era

The master, the vast, overflowing sea,

The master, the deep, surging ocean

الأَحمديّ العيسويّ المُرتَجى

في كُل حادثة لِقَمع الثائر

وُلدت نَبيهة للحَميد الطاهر
