مِن الأَمير تَحلَّى

مِن الأَمير تَحلَّى

جيدُ الثَنا بِالمَناقبْ

جيدُ الثَنا بِالمَناقبْ

Through the emir was adorned

The Prince adorned

The neck of praise with noble deeds.

His neck with virtues

وَالعيد في الحال أَومى

وَالعيد في الحال أَومى

لَهُ بِنَيل المآرب

لَهُ بِنَيل المآرب

And the festival at once gave a sign

And the feast subtly beckoned

To him of the fulfillment of his wishes.

To the attainment of hopes

وَالمَجد هُناه فيه

وَالمَجد هُناه فيه

بحوز سامي المَناصب

بحوز سامي المَناصب

And glory congratulated him therein

And glory allured him here

On gaining exalted offices.

To the possession of high office

وَمنهلُ الفَضل طابَت

وَمنهلُ الفَضل طابَت

بِهِ لمصر المَشارب

بِهِ لمصر المَشارب

And the fount of bounty made sweet

And the fount of bounty made sweet

Egypt's drinking waters.

For Egypt the watering places

فَقال بِالسَعد أَرّخ

فَقال بِالسَعد أَرّخ

الجاه باب لراغب

So he said, “With good fortune, mark the date:

So he dated the glory

Prestige is a gate for Raghib.”

Of rank as a gate for the desirous

فَقُلت إِنا فَتَحنا

فَقُلت إِنا فَتَحنا

باب البَهاء لِراغب

باب البَهاء لِراغب

So I said, “We have indeed opened

So I said we opened

The gate of splendor for Raghib.”
