1. بسمت ثُغور مسرّة وَأَمانِ

    في مصر فابتهجت بنيل أَماني

    The lips of joy and safety smiled

    in Egypt, so she rejoiced at the fulfillment of her wishes.

  2. وَسَعيدها بختان شبل جنابه

    أَحيا مَواسم سُنَّة الإيمان

    And her Sa‘id, through the circumcision of His Excellency’s lion cub,

    revived the festive observances of faith’s tradition.

  3. وَعَبيد دَولته السَنية بادروا

    لِرسوم تَشريف حَليف تهاني

    And the servants of his exalted state hastened

    to ceremonies of honor accompanied by congratulations.

  4. وَالكُل أَخلَص في الدُعاء مؤملاً

    طُول البَقاء لَهُ مَدى الأَزمان

    And all were sincere in prayer, hoping

    that he might live long throughout the ages.

  5. وَالسَعد في الأَفراح قالَ مؤرِّخاً

    طوسن زَها بِبَهاء عز ختان

    And Good Fortune, amid the festivities, declared in a chronogram:

    “Tusun shone with the splendor of circumcision’s glory.”
