بَشير التَهاني لِلوَزير مُحمَدِ

بَشيرٌ بِإِقبالٍ وَسَعد مُجدَّدِ

بَشيرٌ بِإِقبالٍ وَسَعد مُجدَّدِ

The herald of congratulations to Minister Muhammad

Bring glad tidings of congratulations to Minister Muhammad

is a herald of prosperity and renewed good fortune.

A harbinger of prosperity and renewed fortune

وَيَسعى إِلى علياه سَعدٌ مبادرٌ

وَيَسعى إِلى علياه سَعدٌ مبادرٌ

بِما يَتَمنَّى في العَشية وَالغَد

بِما يَتَمنَّى في العَشية وَالغَد

And eager fortune hastens toward his exalted station,

He strives for its elevation, striving with initiative

with what he desires at evening and on the morrow.

For what he wishes in the eve and the morrow

وَيَلثم بِالإِخلاص راحتَهُ الَّتي

وَيَلثم بِالإِخلاص راحتَهُ الَّتي

بِمصر لَها في الجُود أَعذَبُ مَورد

بِمصر لَها في الجُود أَعذَبُ مَورد

And with devotion it kisses his palm, which

And he embraces his comfort with sincerity

in Egypt has the sweetest wellspring of generosity.

In Egypt it has in generosity the sweetest spring

أَلا يا وَليّ العَهد شُكرك واجب

أَلا يا وَليّ العَهد شُكرك واجب

عَلى كُل مَولىً في الأَنام وَسَيد

عَلى كُل مَولىً في الأَنام وَسَيد

Behold, O crown prince: thanking you is a duty

Indeed, O Crown Prince, gratitude upon you is a duty

for every retainer and master among humankind.

For every loyal one among people and master

وَكَيفَ وَقَد أَنشاك رَبُّك عادِلاً

وَكَيفَ وَقَد أَنشاك رَبُّك عادِلاً

هماماً سَديد الرَأي مِن نسل أَمجد

هماماً سَديد الرَأي مِن نسل أَمجد

And how could it be otherwise, when your Lord created you just,

And how could it not when your Lord created you just

valiant, sound in judgment, and of most illustrious lineage,

Noble, sound of opinion, of glorious lineage

وَأَولاك مُذ سوّاك ما أَنت أَهله

وَأَولاك مُذ سوّاك ما أَنت أَهله

مِن المَنصب الأَسمى الجَليل المُمَجد

مِن المَنصب الأَسمى الجَليل المُمَجد

and, since He fashioned you, bestowed on you what you deserve:

And endowed you since your making with what you deserve

the loftiest office, august and glorified;

Of the supreme, majestic, glorious position

وَحلاك بِالتَدبير وَالحلم وَالذَكا

وَحلاك بِالتَدبير وَالحلم وَالذَكا

وَبِالعلم وَالنَصر العَزيز المؤبد

وَبِالعلم وَالنَصر العَزيز المؤبد

and adorned you with prudence, forbearance, and intelligence,

And adorned you with wisdom, forbearance and intellect

and with knowledge and mighty, everlasting victory;

And with firm, everlasting victory and knowledge

وَأَحيا بك المَعروف وَالعَفو وَالنَدا

وَأَحيا بك المَعروف وَالعَفو وَالنَدا

بِعصر أَبيك الداوريِّ المؤيد

بِعصر أَبيك الداوريِّ المؤيد

and revived through you benevolence, pardon, and bounty

And revived through you courtesy, pardon and munificence

in the age of your father, the upheld sovereign;

In the era of your father the supporting conqueror

وَزادك بِالدين القَويم مَهابةً

وَزادك بِالدين القَويم مَهابةً

وَعزاً وَتَأييداً عَلى كُل مُعتد

وَعزاً وَتَأييداً عَلى كُل مُعتد

and through the upright faith increased your majesty,

And increased you in true religion with awe

and your might and support against every aggressor?

And glory and aid over every aggressor

فَلا زالَ ثَغرُ الدَهر وَالملك باسِماً

فَلا زالَ ثَغرُ الدَهر وَالملك باسِماً

لِطَلعتك الغَراء في خَير مسند

لِطَلعتك الغَراء في خَير مسند

So may the mouth of time and sovereignty never cease smiling

So the horizon of time and the kingdom continue to bear

at your radiant countenance upon the finest seat;

Your radiant rising in the best seat

وَدامَت لَكَ الأَيام في كُل حجة

وَدامَت لَكَ الأَيام في كُل حجة

مسالمة ما أَقبَلَت بِتَجدّد

مسالمة ما أَقبَلَت بِتَجدّد

and may the days remain, for you, in every year,

And may days in every pilgrimage continue for you

peaceful, so long as they return anew,

Pacific whenever they return renewed

وَما قالَ مَجدي في هناك مُؤرخاً

وَما قالَ مَجدي في هناك مُؤرخاً

بصحة تَوفيق بَدا عام سؤدد

بصحة تَوفيق بَدا عام سؤدد

and so long as Majdi says, dating your felicity:

And Ma jdi said not falsely recording there

“With Tawfiq in good health, a year of preeminence has dawned.”

Of well-being through evident blessing the year sixty
