جَدَّدَتْ مَسجِداً لِقُطب شَهيرِ

جَدَّدَتْ مَسجِداً لِقُطب شَهيرِ

بضعةُ الداوريْ المَليك الخَطيرِ

She restored a mosque for a renowned spiritual master.

The daughter of al-Dāwārī, the eminent king.

وَبنت فيهِ للعباد سَبيلاً

وَبنت فيهِ للعباد سَبيلاً

ماؤُهُ دافعٌ لحرّ الهَجير

ماؤُهُ دافعٌ لحرّ الهَجير

And within it she built a drinking fountain for worshippers.

Its water wards off the heat of the scorching midday.

وَالتُقى فيهِ قالَ لِلمَجد أَرّخ

وَالتُقى فيهِ قالَ لِلمَجد أَرّخ

زَينَب أَنشأت مصلى مُنير

زَينَب أَنشأت مصلى مُنير

And piety within it said to glory, “Record the date”:

Zaynab established a radiant place of prayer.
