يا شَمس حسن بَديع نُور طَلعتها

أَربى عَلى نُور شَمس الأُفق وَالقَمَرِ

أَربى عَلى نُور شَمس الأُفق وَالقَمَرِ

O sun of wondrous beauty, the light of whose appearance

Oh sun of beauty's splendid light

has surpassed the light of the horizon’s sun and the moon.

Whose rising shone brighter than sun or moon's night

وَيا وَليدة مَحمود مَناقبه

وَيا وَليدة مَحمود مَناقبه

عَلا بِها قَدره في البَدو وَالحضر

عَلا بِها قَدره في البَدو وَالحضر

And O newborn daughter of Mahmud, whose virtues

And O noble daughter of Mahmoud the praised

have raised his standing among desert dwellers and townspeople.

Through you his fame was raised

بُشرى بِمولدك السامي فَطالعه

بُشرى بِمولدك السامي فَطالعه

سَعدُ السُعود بِنَص جاءَ في الخَبَر

سَعدُ السُعود بِنَص جاءَ في الخَبَر

Glad tidings of your exalted birth, for its ascendant

Good tidings, your noble birth's horoscope

is Sa‘d al-Su‘ud, as the report explicitly states.

Brought joy to the happy family, as foretold

وَالمَجد مِن طَرَب أَضحى يُؤرّخه

وَالمَجد مِن طَرَب أَضحى يُؤرّخه

جَميلة بَدر أَنس هَلّ في صفر

جَميلة بَدر أَنس هَلّ في صفر

And Glory, in delight, began to record its date:

Glory's delight chronicled the beautiful full moon

“Jamila, a full moon of joy, appeared in Safar.”

That rose joyfully in Safar's morn
