O peerless one of the age in lineage and ancestral honor,
O unmatched in lineage and rank of old
And unrivaled one of the era in excellence and refinement,
Peerless in merit and manners untold

This Najib, by the Mighty One's decree, has become
Najeeb by decree of the Mighty shall rise
Stripped of his duties for no reason
Unburdened, without cause, devoid of ties
I showed them kindness

Except enmity; I had shown them kindness,
Save their enmity that to him clung
Out of compassion for them, in the service of books.
For pitying them in serving the young

بِقطعهby cutting it off وَأَضاعواand they ruined الصدقtruth بِالكذبwith lies
So they repaid my gracious favor
So my good they rewarded with disregard
By cutting it off, and they ruined truth with lies.
And truth with lies, they went too far
وَبالغواand they went to extremes فيin الأَذىharm حَتّىuntil رَموهthey accused him بِماof what

And they went so far in harming him that they accused him of what
Till with that which destroyed him they speared
Brought him, though wronged, to ruin.
While wronged he to evil they steered

Through me he implored, let not my glory wane
Send Majdi away without his aim and wish fulfilled.

For you are rain, and indeed rain's custom is
For rain thou art, and rain's way is to pour
To come and quench thirst, without promise or request.
Unbidden, unasked evermore

Regarding him, do what you ought to do
Worthy to decree; for your protégé never suffers through the ages.
Your grace makes the wicked their days rue

And mend what indignity rent his repute

O you equitable to Arab and mute
