يا أَيُّها الملك الَّذي إِحسانُهُ

يا أَيُّها الملك الَّذي إِحسانُهُ

غمر الأَنامَ جَميعهم طُوفانُهُ

غمر الأَنامَ جَميعهم طُوفانُهُ

O king, whose beneficence

O king whose kindness has flooded all people with its abundance,

Has engulfed all humankind in its flood,

And whose justice has made his realms fragrant with his praise,

وَبعدله في مُلكه بَين الوَرى

وَبعدله في مُلكه بَين الوَرى

طابَت بِمسك ثَنائه أَوطانه

طابَت بِمسك ثَنائه أَوطانه

And through his justice in his realm among humankind,

And whose firmness has raised up the pillars of his ancestors’ home,

His lands are fragrant with the musk of praise for him;

And whose good conduct and rain of gifts have surpassed its times,

وَبحزمه فيها وَشدّة باسه

وَبحزمه فيها وَشدّة باسه

رُفعت لَبيت جدوده أَركانه

رُفعت لَبيت جدوده أَركانه

And through his resolve there and his formidable prowess,

You are the just imam and the guiding light

The pillars of his forefathers’ house have been raised;

That leads to the religion of guidance with faith,

وَبحسن سيرته وَغَيث نَواله

وَبحسن سيرته وَغَيث نَواله

فاقَت عَلى أَمثالها أزمانه

فاقَت عَلى أَمثالها أزمانه

And through his fine conduct and the rain of his bounty,

And for you is the All-Powerful, O namesake of His prophet,

His times have surpassed their like.

A helper against those whom His authority has deceived,

أَنتَ الإِمام العَدل وَالعلَمُ الَّذي

أَنتَ الإِمام العَدل وَالعلَمُ الَّذي

يَهدي إِلى دين الهُدى إِيمانه

يَهدي إِلى دين الهُدى إِيمانه

You are the just imam and the beacon whose

And victory walks before you fulfilling wishes,

Faith guides to the religion of right guidance.

And your horsemen circle you in celebration,

وَلَكَ المهيمن يا سميَّ نَبيِّه

وَلَكَ المهيمن يا سميَّ نَبيِّه

عَونٌ عَلى مَن غرّه سُلطانه

عَونٌ عَلى مَن غرّه سُلطانه

And for you, O namesake of His prophet, the Guardian

And Tunis endures, the crown of your kingdom,

Is an aid against anyone deluded by his own power.

A refuge which your loyal men retreat to.

وَالنَصر بَين يَديك يَسعى بِالمُنى

وَالنَصر بَين يَديك يَسعى بِالمُنى

وَيَطوف حَولك في الهَنا فُرسانه

وَيَطوف حَولك في الهَنا فُرسانه

And victory hastens before you with all you wish for,

My glory has not increased with my praise of you,

And its horsemen circle around you in joy.

Though my inscription aspires to it daily,

وَتَدوم تونس تاجُ ملكك موئلاً

وَتَدوم تونس تاجُ ملكك موئلاً

يَأوي إِلَيهِ مِن الصَفا أَعوانه

يَأوي إِلَيهِ مِن الصَفا أَعوانه

And may Tunis, the crown of your kingdom, remain a refuge

But adorned with the beauty of gratitude to you,

To which its supporters resort out of sincere affection,

O king of the times, his court.

ما ازداد مَجدي بامتداحك رفعةً

ما ازداد مَجدي بامتداحك رفعةً

يُومي إِلَيهِ بحوزها نيشانه

يُومي إِلَيهِ بحوزها نيشانه

So long as Majdi gains distinction by praising you—

His decoration showing him to have attained it—

وَاِزدان تَشريفاً بحسن تشكُّرٍ

وَاِزدان تَشريفاً بحسن تشكُّرٍ

لَكَ يا مَليكَ زَمانِه دِيوانُه

لَكَ يا مَليكَ زَمانِه دِيوانُه

And adorned with honor through gracious thanks

To you, O sovereign of his age, is his book of verse.
